Witall Chinese Communications
Helping you to overcome language barriers
We don't profess to be multilingual - that's why we describe ourselves as
specialists. As a result we don't gloss over the details; we give you a proper
appraisal of what will happen if you need to communicate between English and
Chinese.

This includes advising you on the difference between communicating with Mainland
China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Communities.
We offer the following services, in either Chinese into English or English into
Chinese:
    translation
    editing and proof-reading
    abstraction
    design, desktop publishing and typesetting
    website localisation

"Language is by its very nature a communal thing; that is, it expresses never the exact thing but a compromise - that which is common to you, me, and everybody." Thomas Earnest Hulme 1923
Design, Desktop Publishing and Typesetting
We can take your business card or brochure and not only translate the text but also
take it through design, desktop publishing and/or typesetting stages as necessary.

We can work with your existing design team to produce work which can be
manipulated in your own design package (supplying outline PDF files) or, if you don’t
have your own design team, we can help you prepare your project from translation
right through to its final production stage.

Website Localization
We can take your existing website and not only translate the text but also guide you
through the process of producing graphic elements like click buttons and banners

Pricing
Everyone wants to know "How much will it cost?"

There are many different factors that go into determining the final price for a
translation. We've listed some of them below:

How long is the document and what is the word count?
Turnaround time - how fast do you want the work back?
Subject matter - is it general, technical, medical, legal?
Is the document available in electronic format, printed copy, fax, handwritten?
If it's in electronic format, what program is it currently in?
In what electronic format do you want it back?
    Are there any graphics involved?
Are we dealing with desktop publishing or HTML files?

We believe that every project is different, so we treat all our work on a bespoke basis.

If you would like us to quote for a particular piece of work then please email us.

You'll need to include a sample of the work, if possible, and as much detail as you
can about what you want. We will get back to you with a price as soon as possible.
Translation
We can translate anything from a business card to a technical manual and
because we have access to so many translators in China, we can handle virtually
any subject matter.

All our translations are handled by experts within their own fields and we ensure
that the right person is selected in order to meet the unique requirements of each
project.

Our aim is make sure that the work accurately conveys both the meaning and the
style of the original text.

All of our translations are edited and proofread after the basic draft has been
completed to ensure the work meets with our own stringent quality control
process.

Editing and Proofreading
We believe that editing and proofreading go hand-in-hand and you should not
have one without the other, but there is a clear distinction between the two:

We use editing to correct any errors made during the translation process and to
improve the accuracy and style of the work. Essentially it involves the review and
revision of a translation to make overall improvements to the text.

Editing comes as part of our overall translation package, but it can also be
purchased as a stand-alone service if you have an existing translation that you
would like checked and verified.

When we proofread a translation, we are comparing new work with original text
and making sure there are no formatting errors that might have been introduced.
It means we are not looking to change the words or the meaning but where it is
appropriate we make amendments to ensure that the new document conforms to
the required layout and typographic specifications of the original.

Abstraction
Not all projects require a full translation. If all you need is a basic summary of a
document's content, then an abstract is a cost-effective way to obtain essential
information. Depending on your brief, this can include the purpose, scope, and
conclusion of the original text.
